Can dogs leave a legacy? Can a little white poodle mix change the lives of an entire family? I think yes. Amy asked me today if we want to get a dog and my answer is a resounding YES! Pets have the amazing ability to teach humans Christlike attributes. Do you remember how Polly would try to comfort the family member in tears? She was by far the most compassionate member of our family. She also showed us how to forgive and have patience every time we dressed her up and pulled her ears. Towards the end of her life, Polly showed us grace in discomfort. Sure, she peed on Mom’s carpet every now and then, but given the choice, she would have been obedient, as she almost always was, and gone in the yard. She was also incredibly loyal to us. Remember when she followed Ryan up the street to look after him when he was just a toddler? More than anything, Polly was friendly and happy (with the exception of the UPS man) to everyone.

I think Polly taught us things that we couldn’t have learned elsewhere. I look forward to seeing her after I die. I have no doubt she will be at my feet, curled up like a jellybean, dancing around in excitement.

With all of the pictures we have been sending each other in emails, I thought our family could use a blog to keep up to date on everyone’s life. I want to see pictures of Rachael and Kelton’s games, hand on rocks pictures from Dad and bathing beauty pictures of Charley. Tell about the annoying checkout girl at the market or the funny thing that happened at work.

I will email everyone our username and password. Please start posting!

I know you are all amazed at how smart I have become with computers, but no compliments please.
