Our new favorite place to eat is KC Tandoor. They make Indian food, which I thought I didn’t like until I tried their dishes. We are offically addicted. One drawback though-

Even the cat cringes when I breath in his direction. The dog, however, dosen’t seem to mind, but then he also seems to enjoy the smell of feces.

Here we have my $2.00 Chinese peasant hat that I got at the Orange County Swap meet. I was surprised at how much I liked wearing this hat. I guess I shouldn’t be, they have been wearing them for ages, they must be good. Oh- also, I am sorry to report that the swap meet is closing down this fall, but I heard there is an even better one.
Over the past few months I have been writing down the weird, and sometimes funny, things that Thomas says. Most of the time he just asks me things out of the blue while we are in the car. Who knows where he gets this stuff? Here is a sampling of the bizarre world that is parenthood:
“When Daddy was a Grandpa, he was a smoker.”
“Do monkeys have pee pees?”
“How much does the Pink Panther weigh?”
“When I grow up, I think I might have trouble finding work.”
“What happens if your car eats sucker sticks?”
“What is the color of clouds brains?”
“How come the Halloween man with scary eyeballs dosen’t itch his face?”
All I can do is try to answer as best I can and continue check the gas tank for sucker sticks.

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
- Matthew (ch. IX, v. 37-38)
So last year, after Thanksgiving, I put some of our pumpkins out on the back patio. The “patio” at that time was only a small square of concrete, you may remember. Anyway, they sat there, and sat there and by and by they began to rot. It became kind of a family joke about how those pumpkins symbolized my true laziness. The Hursts like to razz me about them when they were over. My thought was that any day the landscaping would start so why bother?
Anyway, the landscapers did come and bust up the square of concrete and throw away my rotten pumpkins. Now, it is almost Halloween again and the landscaping is almost (perpetually) done. We noticed a little seedling pushing it’s way up through the flower bed, and all be damned if it isn’t a pumpkin plant!
The moral here is (according to April Meeker), you may sit by in laziness, but things will grow and change with or without you, so get in the game. Or the other moral is why work your butt off when you don’t have to?
Anyway- here’s more pics of yard:
Also check out browse all. There is a picture of a tomato (I think from Heidi’s yard) she probably made her kids do all the garden work. I tried to thumbnail it but I couldn’t.
!SORRY! I wanted to change the look of the blog so that it displayed all the posts, but I lost the photos. However, if you roll you cursor over the thumbnail, it will show.

We had fun and did a lot. We went to a cartoon museum featuring original sketches from old cartoons. We also visited the Conservator of Flowers. That was BEAUTIFUL. It was the most ornate-looking greenhouse. They happened to be featuring the carniverous plants (fiesty little things). We toured Fisherman’s Worf w/ Pier 39 (there were hundreds of sea lions). Above you can see Alcatraz which we didn’t get to (With Charley…no thanks). We visted the local Farmer’s Market and took long drives through the vineyard country. Santa Rosa is really a beautiful town, authentic town…but we were really glad to get back to Ogden. I guess we are just homebodies.

Not a whole lot going on here. I am in school of course. I am taking Mammalogy, genetics, ethnobotany, marketing, and philosophy. This semester so far has been better than usual. Maybe thats because I haven’t had any tests yet though. Go to this site for some good entertainment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrwU1_fIlNg

Our good friends Amy and Tim Yates got their babies today/yesterday (China time). We are so incredibly excited for them, I just sat and cried as the photos downloaded.
On a lighter note, here we are at Disneyland yesterday, riding the Buzzlightyear ride.
Ben took Thomas to the bathroom at Disneyland. It was extremely crowded with very long lines at each urinal. Ben helped Thom go and then told him to stand next to him and not touch anything. Thomas took the opportunity to compare a few things and then remarked in a loud voice, “Dad, I have a small pee pee and you have a bigggg one!”
